Charanga is committed to environmental sustainability and recognises the urgent need to address the challenges of climate change. Businesses play a crucial role in protecting and preserving the planet for future generations. With this in mind, we have taken tangible steps to minimise our ecological footprint.
As a cloud-based educational technology business with tens of thousands of teachers and students using our online service daily, Charanga uses only environmentally sustainable data centres that utilise renewable energy sources and adopt innovative cooling technologies.
Charanga partners with Amazon Web Services (AWS) for its data centre provision and cloud support services. In April 2022, Amazon extended its position as the world’s largest corporate buyer of renewable energy. It reached 85% renewable energy use across AWS data centres and is on a path to power its operations with 100% renewable energy by 2025.
Beyond the cloud, Charanga also actively engages its employees in environmental initiatives and funds their participation in sustainable practices such as the Cycle to Work Scheme. By fostering a culture of environmental responsibility, we seek to inspire positive change within our industry and the communities in which we operate.
